La Entrada has hosted the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament for multiple years, last in Spring 2017.  The PTA has provided funding for this school-run event.

From La Entrada PTA teacher, Kim Kuczon:

La Entrada 6th-8th graders have the opportunity to apply to be student volunteers for the day serving as team managers, historians, greeters, scorekeepers, spirit leaders, or referees (the applications were handed out during P.E. and are available in the office). Other bay area schools will be bringing teams to the event to participate in the tournament.

The entire La Entrada community is invited to share in this special day by attending the opening and closing ceremonies, games and skill activities, showing support for our athletes by making signs and posters, writing letters to our team members, researching the Special Olympics program, and more. It is a really special day and a great opportunity for our entire community to celebrate our La Entrada athletes.

Please contact Kim Kuczon, our 6th grade P.E. teacher and Special Olympics organizer, for more information. This her favorite day of the year!
